Well all 7 eggs hatched and this video from earlier this evening shows them feeding from their mother.
Fingers crossed that they all fledge this year.
After the 5th chicks is born the video below shows the mother disposing of the now empty shell. She is very good with her feet and peak to polish off the shell!
To satisfy the hungry hordes both parents team up to do the round the clock feeding
After months of waiting I can confirm that this morning of the 7 eggs we currently have 4 chicks! Still hopeful that the remaining 3 will hatch shortly!
Mr Blue Tit brings Mrs Blue Tit her early morning breakfast. Unfortunately it’s slightly too large to manage in the nest so she pops outside to eat it.
Looks like 7 eggs is our total for 2009 as it’s remained at 7 for a about a week now
The bird-cam server got a new IP address which has caused the firewall to fail on it’s routing of the live images. All is back up again now.
Firstly: Here’s a video showing a lovely round nest and 6 eggs setup like snooker balls!
Secondly: Mr Blue Tit brings Mrs Blue Tit her dinner!
As of this morning we have 4 eggs that we can see. There may be other eggs in the nest but Mrs Tit does a good job of covering them over!
All fluffed up!

We now have a live bird-cam stream available via the “Live Bird-Cam Images” page on the right hand side
After the slow start that we saw last year things seem to have picked up in the nest building stakes! The blue tits seem to work as a team with one passing the nesting material to the other. The wing flapping action compresses the nesting down so that once the nest is complete it will be nice and tightly packed thus providing insulation and a soft cushion.
