Hi, I'm after some advice please. We have blue tits in our nest box but they've managed to almost completely obscure the camera lens with a feather so we can see very little. My daughter (and me!) is so disappointed. Any suggestions as to what is the best thing we can do? There's definitely eggs as she's there a lot just sitting and i don't want to scare her off. Is it best just to leave the feather and hope for better luck next year? Otherwise is there a safer time to go to the box, like 1st thing in the morning? Sarah

Have you seen you have a roosting bird? Signs are looking good!

I also have a nest box cam in Stone, they do visit occasionally, and have cleaned out the nest box of some material. All the best!

Visited your site recently when looking for information about blue tits - when they start chirping, wing flapping etc. Very informative. I have also started a web blog on our blue tit nest as this is the first year we have had a successful blue tit family raised in our box with a camera. See website above. It needs tweaking a bit as it is zoomed in too much and the colour needs sorting before the 2011 season

We were delighted when blue tits nested this year, the first year we put up a nest box in our not-very-rural garden.

Some of the young at least have now fledged and I have watched them being fed by their parents.

However, I was wondering when it would be safe to peek inside at the nest and whether we should then just leave it alone or remove it from the box.....

Any advice would be gratefully received.

Thanks, Christine

Help - We are having a dangerous tree removed (on Friday) but the blue tits are nesting in the bird box. Any suggestions how we can move the box without disburbing them too much? Any advice appreciated.
